Safeguarding Training

Safeguarding training is mandatory for all County Safeguarding officers and is funded by the ESMBA. We work closely with Coach Bowls who deliver three bowls specific safeguarding courses.

You can find details of training courses we recommend below.

Introduction to Safeguarding for Club Safeguarding Officers

The BDA have developed a short free e-learning course named “introduction to safeguarding in bowls” for all club Safeguarding officers, to help them understand their roles and learn how to create a safer environment for all members of their club.

You can access the course using this link.

Safeguarding: Officer Training

This four hour course covers all the information that any club Safeguarding Officer may need to help them fulfil this vital role in their club.

It includes safeguarding awareness for both adults and children, along with how to make a club a safer place for everyone, roles and responsibilities and highlights help and support.

This course replaces the old ‘Time to Listen’ course which focused purely on children.

You can access this course and other Coach Bowls safeguarding courses on the Coach Bowls Courses page.
